Cast Urethane Services

Cast Urethane Services for Prototypes and Low-Volume Production

At RPM Fast, our cast urethane services are built for projects that sit between prototyping and full-scale production. If you need parts that look, feel, and perform like final injection-molded components — but without the high tooling cost — this is where cast urethane makes sense.

We keep things simple: you share your design, and we help you turn it into high-quality parts that are ready for testing, validation, or even short production runs.

Cast Urethane

Cast Urethane is a manufacturing technique to make high-quality cosmetic and functional parts produced in a production-like material quickly and inexpensively before proceeding to injection-molding.

Process

  • Parts can be made in less than 10 days
  • Silicone RTV tools have 20-30 shots
  • Master tools made from additive or CNC

FAQ's

What is cast urethane used for?

Cast urethane is mainly used for prototypes, testing, and low-volume production. It’s ideal when you want parts that look and perform like final products without investing in expensive tooling.

The main difference is cost and volume. Injection molding is better for large-scale production, while cast urethane is perfect for smaller batches and early-stage testing.

Typically, it’s used for small runs — anywhere from a few parts up to a couple hundred, depending on your project.

You can choose from a range of materials, including rigid plastics, flexible rubber-like materials, and even transparent options. It depends on how your part needs to perform.

Yes, in many cases they closely replicate injection-molded parts in appearance and performance, making them great for testing and validation.
